Opis projektu

The project aims to present the importance of postnatal home care provided by a midwife during the first days and weeks after birth. The main focus is on supporting the mother, monitoring the newborn’s health, promoting breastfeeding, identifying warning signs, and strengthening parental confidence in caring for the baby at home.

During the Science Festival, participants will be invited to take part in interactive educational stations showing selected elements of a midwife’s postnatal home visit. The stations may include newborn observation, umbilical cord care, breastfeeding support, assessment of maternal well-being, recognition of postpartum warning symptoms, and safe baby care.

The project will emphasize that a midwife’s home visit is not only a medical assessment but also an important form of emotional, educational, and social support for the whole family. It will show how professional postnatal care can improve maternal confidence, newborn safety, breastfeeding success, and early detection of health problem.
