Opis projektu

This workshop aims to integrate the development of English reading comprehension with the responsible and critical use of artificial intelligence (AI). Participants will work with texts, focusing on deepening understanding, identifying information gaps, and clarifying unfamiliar vocabulary. The session will promote mediation skills and critical thinking, demonstrating how AI can effectively support learning while also requiring careful evaluation of its outputs.

During the workshop, participants will engage with texts containing missing or unclear information and identify what is needed to fully understand them. They then formulate precise, purposeful questions for an AI tool to clarify meaning, explain vocabulary, and complete gaps in the text. In guided stages, participants evaluate AI-generated responses, discuss their accuracy and usefulness, and refine their prompts where necessary. The final stage involves applying the acquired information in mediation tasks.

Participants will strengthen their reading comprehension skills and their ability to interpret missing information in texts. They will learn to formulate effective, targeted questions for AI tools and critically assess the quality of AI-generated responses. The workshop also develops mediation competences, including explaining, and adapting content, while fostering awareness of both the potential and the limitations of AI in educational contexts.

No prior experience with AI is required. The workshop is designed for learners with at least an intermediate level of English. All materials and digital resources will be provided during the session. Participants are encouraged to take an active role in collaborative discussions and hands-on tasks involving reading, questioning, and text completion.
